World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain on its own.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

Potions

The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important, like a Thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
